If you're referring to a loan against the title to real property - mechanics liens usually won't override a loan that was previously secured by the property title. North Carolina mechanics liens will take priority over a document securing a loan against the property title if the mechanics lien rights arose prior to when the loan security was filed against the property. But, if the security was filed agianst the property title prior to the mechanics lien right arising, then the mechanics lien will generally follow in priority.
