South CarolinaMechanics LienRight to Lien
Anonymous General Contractor

I'm a restoration contractor in North Carolina. I do work in South Carolina and have need to file a lien. What are the rules regarding my lien rights in South Carolina?

Restoration contractors are generally entitled to mechanics lien rights in South Carolina. And, South Carolina's mechanics lien and notice rules are probably simpler than North Carolina's in most situations. For detailed breakdowns on South Carolina lien rights, these resources will be a great start: (1) South Carolina Mechanics Lien Guide and FAQs; and (2) How to File a North Carolina Mechanics Lien | Guide + Form Download.
