Under Georgia's mechanics lien laws, the computation of time is determined by Ga. Code §1-3-1(3). This statute states that Saturdays and Sundays are only excluded if the period of time is less than 7 days. So it stands to reason that for purposes of calculating the deadline to file a Georgia mechanics lien, the timeframe is 90 calendar days.
If, however, the last day falls on a Saturday or Sunday, the lien claimant will be able to exercise their rights on the following Monday. Additionally, if the last day falls on a public or legal holiday, the party will be able to exercise their rights on the next business day.
