FloridaPrevailing Wages
Anonymous Contractor

I'm currently working for HSR constructors as a equipment operator building the new virgin train line and upgrading parts of the existing Florida east coast rail line. DOES THIS NOT CONSTITUTE AS A JOB THAT SHOULD BE PAYING PREVAILING WAGES. YES IT IS A PRIVATE INVESTOR BUT IY A PROJECT THAT IS GOVERNED BY THE FRA. THANK YOU

If you're unsure whether your job should be paying prevailing wages, reaching out to your employer would be a good place to start. They may be able to provide a quick and easy explanation on why prevailing wages aren't required. Alternatively, contacting the US Dept. of Labor's Wage and Hour Office would help to assess whether prevailing wages are required would be a good step. You can get the office's contact info here: Wage and Hour Division FAQs. Or, you can contact your local office here: Florida Wage and Hour Offices. If that's not effective, then consulting a local Florida construction lawyer who's familiar with the Davis-Bacon Act requirements should help.
