Releasing a mechanics lien is very similar to filing the claim in the first place. It's a simple document that identifies the lien that was filed, along with a statement requesting the release. You can find all of this information on the copy of the recorded lien. Once you've filled out all the required info, all that's left is to file it in the office of the clerk of superior court in the county where the property is located (i.e. where the claim was filed).
One piece of advice. Do NOT release your claim until you have payment in hand. This may take some persuading on your behalf, but you have all the leverage right now. If you release your claim and the check bounces, you'll be SOL.
