The deadline to file an Arkansas mechanics lien, also known as a Statement of Account and Claim of Lien, is 120 days from the claimant's last furnishing of labor or materials to the project. Once this deadline has passed, the claimant will no longer have the right to file a mechanics lien against the property. One year after completion of the project is well outside the timeframe for filing a lien.
However, just because a claimant has lost their ability to file a lien, doesn't mean all hope of recovery is lost. There are other methods of recovery one can take if they've missed their mechanics lien deadline.
