Can maintenance workers still be sent out to jobs for miscellaneous tasks such as carpet cleaning, and or line striping?

Facilities maintenance company operating statewide. Can they send workers to do remedial tasks such as carpet cleaning? Line striping? And other non critical tasks. Are they allowed to have workers driving 1-3hrs away from their home into other areas for non critical tasks?

According to California's statewide stay at home order, residential maintenance work seems to be considered "essential" in large part. To quote Governor Newsome's order: "Workers such as plumbers, electricians, exterminators, and other service providers who provide services that are necessary to maintaining the safety, sanitation, and essential operation of residences," will be considered "essential." So, residential maintenance workers may be considered essential if their work relates to maintaining the safety, sanitation, and essential operation of the residence. However, minor, inconsequential, or purely aesthetic work that doesn't relate to the safe operation of the residence likely shouldn't be considered essential. Of course, keep in mind that counties and cities have been issuing their own stay at home orders which could be more restrictive than the one at the state level. So, it's important to review the restrictions of where you or your workers are operating from, as well as the destinations they'll be going to. For help tracking that, this resource should be valuable: Can I do Construction Work In my State? If you select California, you'll be able to review the local stay at home orders for some CA counties and cities - and it's being updated several times a day.
