Can I file a mechanics lean for a service call

I'm a subcontractor who performs solar installs for Unlimited License Electrician Companies. I provided work to complete a service call that was not related to any of the installs my crew personally Installed, it was an additional service provided and they will not oblige to the charge of $750.00.

When equipment or supplies are being permanently attached to the project property, mechanics lien rights will very typically be available. However, mechanics lien rights for maintenance and repair work aren't so cut and dry. If maintenance is minor or ordinary, and if it's the type of work that's required and expected to keep the improvement in order - then lien rights will often not be available. But, serious repair work and work like installing new parts will often be lienable.

Recovering payment before a mechanics lien becomes necessary

Filing a mechanics lien is generally considered the nuclear option. And, pursuing a less-aggressive recovery tool first might be in order. For one, a simple invoice reminder could be enough to get paid. Sometimes, all that's needed is a little nudge in the right direction. Or, taking things a step further with a document like a payment demand letter might work too. Often, a demand letter with a payment deadline which includes specific legal threats will lead to payment. Finally, because mechanics liens are so powerful, that means the mere threat of a lien claim is powerful, too. So, sending a document like a Notice of Intent to Lien could get the job done too.
