I am employee in Arizona can I file a lien. I paid for materials and also he bounced a check to me.

To have mechanic's lien rights, you must have: (1) a contractor's license or be providing professional services under ARS 32-1007; (2) sent a valid preliminary 20-day notice; and (3) have a written contract directly with the owner if the property to be liened is owner occupied residential. It is not clear from your question whether you meet these requirements. It is also unclear who failed to pay you. If it is your "employer" and you are an "employee" rather than an independent contractor, then there may be an entirely different body of law that would potentially apply to your claims.
