Can a lien be issued in Michigan if: the builder who entered into the contract on behalf of our company with the customer/project owner is no longer with our company?

We had a builder win a contract for a project that is no longer with our company. Does that affect our ability to collect payment through a lien for unpaid amounts due for work completed by our company for that project in Michigan?

That's an interesting question. If one person executes a contract on behalf of their company and later leaves that company, it shouldn't affect the ability of the company to file a mechanics lien for work performed by the company that goes unpaid. In such a situation, it would seem that the individual's presence is largely irrelevant if they were not acting in their own capacity when agreeing to the project, but as an agent for their company.
