When a sub files bankruptcy

Washington
Anonymous Contractor

We have a subcontractor that filed bankruptcy, then changed their mind but their insurance company sent us a letter saying all billing will need to go through them till end of project. We were wondering if Zlien has any forms / suggestions on how to handle this situation going forward.

I'm sorry to hear that. Unfortunately, zlien does not have any forms on how to handle such a situation. However, clearing up the subcontractor's current status regarding the bankruptcy filing will be crucial moving forward, and that should provide more clarity in where to send payments. In the meantime, unless otherwise instructed as a result of the bankruptcy filing, making payments pursuant to the original agreement may be the safest course of action.
