What form do I use to file a real estate lien to collect on a civil judgment?

Is proper notice required to send to judgment debtor? I live in Los Angeles, CA. I filed a lien against property. The property is up for a sheriff's sale. The judgment debtor objects because I did not send any of the required notices to her. Is this a void lien for no proper notice?

That's a good question, and I'm sorry to hear about your ordeal. From the sound of it, you're dealing with a judgment lien - which is a little bit outside of our wheelhouse at the Construction Legal Center. However, there are some online resources that should be really helpful here. For one, Nolo has this guide to California judgment liens, and for another, this Notice of Judgment Lien resource from the California Secretary of State may have further information on the requisite notice of lien. Plus, Avvo and JustAnswer both connect lawyers with individuals who have legal questions - and they're available to answer questions on a wide variety of legal subjects and practice locations. Good luck!
