Is there a specific way a employer has to take down timed worked? Clocking in or out. Can they just keep track of your hours for you and turn in what they think you worked?
I'm not personally aware of any specific method that must be used to ensure the time worked figures are accurate to comply with Colorado's prevailing wage and certified payroll requirements. Generally, an employer must swear that the information in the certified payroll submission is true - and that serves as the verification of the hours worked. Since an employer could face serious issues for submitting incorrect information - it's assumed that's enough incentive to ensure the documentation is correct.
With all of that being said, I should note that I'm not an expert on the ins and outs of Colorado's prevailing wage requirements. And, for the most clarity, it'd be wise to consult a local attorney familiar with prevailing wage requirements, or a company that helps with prevailing wage compliance - like eBacon.
