The contractor had me waive my rights to file a preliminary notice or file a lien. Do I have any rights?

FloridaPreliminary Notice
Anonymous Contractor

I am a subcontractor who was scammed by a gc telling me that I am not allowed to send preliminary notices to his customers and that he pays his subcontractors on time. Now he is holding my money for completed jobs. I have the contract that he had me sign before I could start working for him . If I file a lien will I be violating his contract?

Florida law is as follows: A right to claim a lien may not be waived in advance. A lien right may be waived only to the extent of labor, services, or materials furnished. Any waiver of a right to claim a lien that is made in advance is unenforceable.
