The Notice of Intent filed for Creative Environments needs cancelled as we received payment from our customer right away. They continue to receive the notice, is there something we need to do to cancel it?
Generally, a Notice of Intent to Lien isn't a required part of the Arizona mechanics lien process. So, sending a Notice of Intent to Lien doesn't actually create an official claim in Arizona, and it's more or less a letter stating "I am owed payment and will file a lien if I have to." As a result, a Notice of Intent doesn't necessarily need to be "cancelled" or "released." Instead, more typically, some form of lien waiver will usually be exchanged (be that conditional or unconditional, progress or final, etc.).
In some cases, an owner or customer will be insistent that a Notice of Intent to Lien be cancelled, though. For those situations, a retraction letter might ease a customer or owner's mind. More on that document here: How and Why to Send a Retraction Letter.
