Is my company still tied to this lien even though my GC has bonded off the lien?

My GC bonded off a lien so now our closing in mid Sep will move forward. He says my company is compketely removed from the lien now and he will fight it in the courts. But, isn't my company name still tied to this lien until it is completely resolved with the subcontractor who filed it? Can he come after my company?

Generally, no. The lien has been transferred to the bond, and unless you have a contractual connection to the subcontractor, it likely cannot come after your company. This is, of course, assuming you are the property owner. This also is likely contingent on whether you pay the general contractor in full for the subcontractor's work. You should contact an attorney to discuss the details and determine what steps you should ensure are taken by the GC to minimize any risk to you.
