Is it illegal to borrow or rent out a contractor license in Georgia?

Is it illegal to borrow or rent out a contractor license in Georgia? If so can you tell me what the penalty is? A person I am working for is not paying me and I believe they are borrowing a contractor license from somebody else.

Renting or borrowing a contractors license is generally prohibbited. For a contractor borrowing someone else's license, they could face the same penalties associated with performing work without a license. Generally, that will mean the contractor has no legal right to payment - and there may well be other penalties that I'm not aware of. For the contractor who's renting out their license - they could actually have their license revoked for assisting someone in side-stepping GA's licensing rules.
