I hired a contractor who grossly misrepresented himself, used false photos of his work, lied about his experience and time in business. He ruined my driveway causing additional damage. I refuse to pay, it will cost me nearly twice the cost to have it fixed, he filed a lien. What is my recourse? I have already filed an official consumer fraud complaint with the DA and will follow up at the state level but they can not assist me with the removal of the lien.
In addition he filed a lien under a company with a different name than I hired him under, I hired him under a simple business but he filed the lien under LLC which is defunct according to the state of Kansas.
If you want the lien "removed" there is no simple, easy, or inexpensive answer.
That does not answer my question at all.
