We had a contractor do some mitigation work in our home. They were also paid in full to do the reconstruction work. It has been a month and there has been no work started on the reconstruction. Communication is very poor. Often no response to our questions. They state they will start on a certain day on two occasions and have not showed up. How do we get them to do the work they have been paid for? Can we fire them and demand our money back? When is a contractor considered to have abandoned a job? They have also damaged some things while doing their mitigation work and do not address how they are going to deal with them. Were at a loss on what to do. We have been renting a place to stay now for 11 weeks and have no completion date or time frame for completion.
