How many different addresses can one lien waiver cover?

ColoradoLien Waivers

Good afternoon, We recently received a single check from a contractor making progress payments for several projects with several different addresses , but only one lien waiver. I am under the impression that we would need separate checks and separate lien waivers for each different address . Could you enlighten me please?

It's extremely common for contractors to request and submit lien waivers separately for separate projects. Because mechanics lien rights arise in the property where work is performed, generally, a mechanics lien waiver will be specific to an individual property. However, Colorado isn't a state where a certain waiver form is required. So, conceivably, a contractor could draw up one lien waiver form that'd be sufficient to waive lien rights across multiple, completely separate projects. But again, that certainly wouldn't be the way most construction businesses handle mechanics lien waivers. For more on waivers: The Ultimate Guide to Lien Waivers
