How do I set up the accounting for prevailing wages?

As a construction company, how do I set up the accounting for prevailing wages? For example, i have employee as electrician. The rate is $40.12 and fringes are $25.29. What do I actually pay him per hour? Do I need to set up a separate account for these payroll items?

Setting up payroll systems to handle prevailing wage complexities can be an uphill battle. While I don't have much experience on that front, online services like eBacon or Contractors Prevailing Wage provide solutions for that complexity. Additionally, if you contact construction accountants in your area, they should also be able to help with prevailing wages.
