How do I know if the contractor has filed a lien, in Washington state Pierce county?

WashingtonMechanics Lien

The contractor has a contractor license. We have no written contract, and he has not given me a preliminary notice to file a lien. The contractor only did about 60% work and never come back to finish, so I had to hire someone to complete the work. I told him to pay him the portion that he finished, but he threatened me to file a lien against my property. My house is under contingency and will close next month, I do not want any trouble.

You can go to the Pierce County auditors website and look up the property records. If a lien has been filed, it will be recorded. However, a lien exists 90 days from the date of the last work and doesn't need to be recorded within that 90 day period. So it might be a silent lien.
