How can I get paid?

MassachusettsCollectionsConstruction ContractDefectsForeclosureLawsuitLien DeadlinesMechanics Lien

I filed a mechanics lien on a property. It has been more than 90 days since filing the statement of account, but I didn't file to foreclose on the property. The owner is trying to sell and is now threatening to sue for "slander of title" and unfair or deceptive trade practices and threatening damages. What can I do? Can I still get my money? Will they really be able to come after me for damages?

Failing to file a lawsuit means that your lien is not perfected.  You can file suit and move for a real estate attachment.  You can also negotiate with the Owner.  Feel free to call me to discuss.
