Filing a mechanics lien

Florida

long story short we just sent a 10 day notice to pay to our mortgage company and letting them know if we are reimbursed for monies that were put in the property they can keep the property. However after the 10 days and they don't respond we can place a lien on our property correct so it was to know how to do it correctly since this is not a common thing.

There is not enough information in your question to provide a helpful response - I'm unfamiliar with what you are speaking about in the absence of more clarifying information. In any event, it is unlikely that a mechanics lien is appropriate or sufficient for your purposes here. A mechanics lien provides protection against nonpayment to construction industry participants for work performed to improve property.
