I'm looking to register my LLC in Michigan and need to know if it needs to be a PLLC.

A general contractor needs only a LLC. PLLCs are for certain regulated professions like doctors and lawyers

Do yourself a favor and get a lawyer, an accountant, an insurance agent and a banker. Get all four on your team! Consult them regularly. The answer is you can be an LLC. Only limited professional occupations need a PLLC.

An LLC is sufficient for a general contractor. A PLLC applies to certain licensed professionals, but a GC is not one of those licensures. Good luck.

I agree with Attorney Howard... any contractor needs a good lawyer and a good accountant to grow. A banker and a good insurance agent will help also.
