No situation yet just trying to do things proper and been licensed since 2003 with a good standing with Cslb...Getting a divorce and both spouses are officers with no employees. License holder is the one asking.

That's a good question. According to this page from the CSLB, it appears that because licenses are issued to the business entity, rather than to the qualifying individual, a new license must be secured when shifting to a new business entity.

However, I'll admit that I'm not as well versed as some other experts may be in California's licensing regulations. Reaching out to a local contractors association or even to a local construction attorney might help to clear things up.
