Wisconsin's construction lien law controls rights, requirements, and remedies for asserting a lien. A "lien claimant" means "any person who claims a lien under this section [Wis. Stat. Sec. 779.01] pursuant to a contract for improvement to land entered into by an owner of the land." "Improve" or "improvement" includes "tiling" . . . "which is built, erected, made or done on or to land for its benefit." Among other important details is whether the lien claimant is a prime contractor.
