Who should I be suing for non payment?

Virginia

Hello Experts, I was looking for guidance on my options. I am a sub contractor for a contracting company based out of VA, which moved to MD and the company was eventually sold to an owner who has declared bankruptcy. I am based out of MD and was performing work for a company based out of Milwaukee, WI. I have not been paid for my work performed in July and August. We have sent multiple reminders and the demand letter but no response. Our contract was signed by the CEO of company based out of Virginia. Although we were not made aware it seems that the company was sold and the new owners have filed a bankruptcy. So my question is can I go after the CEO with whom we signed the contract and who is based out of Virginia? Thank you. Sandeep D
