Which lien form should I use, Conditional or unconditional for employees of a tree trimming company?

California

I am a home owner wishing to have a tree trimmed. The tree company wants me to sigh a "estimate" that contains several provisions, one of which concerns Mechanics Liens. I will pay the estimated amount by check and would like to protect myself for any liens, either by the company or it's employees. Which California form should I use for the employees and which form should I use for the company.

You can require contractor submit the signed conditional releases when he submits invoices. After the invoices are paid, then you can require the contractor to provide signed unconditional releases for payments he's received.
