The contractor told us the entire remodel would take one week and total cost 4000.00. I paid for all materials. The remodel then took 4 weeks due to his incompetence but was reassured the 4000.00 would stand. At the end of the job he then wanted 5500.00. I stood fast at the original amount. He then filed a mechanics lien for 8000.00 and I could not put my home in jeopardy. My wife met him at the court house and paid in cash and had lien released with copy of said release. What can I do???
