If you are cited with the following: NRS 624.3013  Failure to keep records or maintain bond; misrepresentation or omission; failure to establish financial responsibility or comply with law or regulations of Board.  The following acts, among others, constitute cause for disciplinary action pursuant to NRS 624.300: ... 5.  Failure in any material respect to comply with the provisions of this chapter or the regulations of the Board. The fine would be anywhere from $50 to $10,000 is the rule pursuant to NAC 624.7251. However, in my experience, the Board tends not to hit contractors with a large fine on this one, unless there are other issues that shows the contractor is a bad actor. Please note that this is required for residential construction only, not for commercial projects. See NRS 624.600(3)(b). The key here is to make your client's happy so they will not submit a claim to the NSCB. Then, proceed forward with doing it the correct way. You do not want to get fined for this when you can show you did nothing else wrong after a client complains to the NSCB.
