This job is paid in full and I would like to release Mechanic's lien but don't see the option to retract on this page

California

I am working from home, this customer needs a release of mechanics lien filed and I do not see it on this page where it normally says retract. Please advise where I may find that.

Good morning Brandi! The most common document in scenarios when payment is made for liens filed on the property is called a Cancellation or Release of Lien. It can be ordered through Levelset from the same project page you previously entered. Start by going to the "job" page on the left blue toolbar- then click the name of the job in question. Then click the very top right "create doc" on that job's page. It will give you a document menu tailored to that particular job. If you don't see cancellation on there, use the search bar and start typing "cancel..." It should come right up. It will populate all job details and you will only need to add the reason for cancelling your lien and select desired processing speed. It consists of a form referencing the old lien and the instrument/recording number of the original lien, the reason for releasing lien, and the address to which the recorded copy should be returned. Proper filing fees will be submitted to allow for the county to record it. Then it is served/sent to the property owner who received the lien, and any other desired recipients. Our team is here to help you make this a smooth and easy process, and depending on where in CA your original lien was, we may even be able to submit your cancellation for electronic filing too! All the best, and very happy to hear you're at the end of this payment issue! Emily
