Release of city lien from real estate property

IllinoisLien Releases

I,am in the process of selling my real estate proerty with a city lien on property. I, will pay the adminstration fee fine off at closing from the sell of real estate property. My question is can this be done and file for a release at this time. Or will I, have to pay off prior to going to closing. What is the best way to get clear tile in this case.

Based upon your comment, I am assuming the lien has been recorded against your property. If so, it will be reflected on the Title Report prepared by the Title Company. The payment and satisfaction of the lien can be made at closing which should provide clear title to the buyer. I would suggest you review with the Title Company to determine if they will handle recording of the Release.

Get a payoff letter to take to closing and the title company will take care of i or pay it off in advance, get a release and take to the closing.
