Hello, Does the statement below applies to all the states or only certain reciprocating states? I am electrical contractor for 10 plus years in WA state thinking to move to Sarasota Florida. Thank you in advance! In July 2020, Florida changed its contractor licensing statute with respect to license RECIPROCITY The new rules make it easier for out-of-state contractors — who have been licensed in other states for at least 10 years — to obtain a Florida contractor’s license without having to take a licensing exam.

No, the 10 year rule applies to all states! You can check out https://hammerngavel.com/licensing-for-nonflorida-contractors for more information on the process. I've helped about 20 contractors from other states obtain Florida licenses this year.
