Mechanics lien rights are generally only available to those who have performed authorized work but gone unpaid for that work. Plus, lien rights are generally only available against the property which is improved. So, paying for an improvement generally won't lead to mechanics lien rights, and that'd seem especially true when the property being liened hasn't actually been improved by the work. Additionally, if the owner being liened hasn't authorized the work themselves, lien rights likely won't be available since the work was unauthorized. That doesn't mean non-lien options won't be available, though. Discussing the matter with an Oklahoma attorney could be useful for sorting out your best recovery options, and pursuing a claim in small claims court could lead to payment, too.
