Hello, I am a superintendent on a construction site, doing a public works project. Am I not eligible le for the prevailing wage rate as I am a supervisor who does not perform physical work? I just want to be sure I am paid correctly Thank

Generally, supervisory work won't require prevailing wages. However, if the supervisor regularly performs journeyman work for a substantial period of time, then their work would be subject to prevailing wage requirements. But, if the work is purely supervisory in nature, or if the journeyman work performed by the supervisor is negligible, then prevailing wages won't be required. That information comes from the Caltrans guide on employment practices, which you can find here at section 8-105C: Chapter 8: Employment Practices, Section 1: Labor Compliance. With that being said, CA prevailing wage laws are hardly my area of expertise. So, for full clarity, it might be worthwhile to reach out to a California prevailing wage consultant or a CA construction lawyer familiar with prevailing wage requirements.
