Need to file a lien on a State funded project. It's residential low income housing

New JerseyMechanics Lien

I am levelset subscriber. I am the drywall subcontractor on a project. My work is completed back on 11/9/21. People are already moving in to the units and I still have not been paid my final payment by the GC. I need to know the details on how to file this lien as it is state funded.

You have more than one option available to you if it's in fact a public project. Depending on the circumstances, you may have a construction lien claim. You also may have a municipal mechanic's lien claim, which can be even more helpful. Time is short on these options though since your last date worked is November 2021. You should move quickly. You would also have a contract action and, depending on things play out, other options. I encourage you to move quickly on the lien question if this is an option you want to pursue. In addition to the time issue, units selling in the building is a game changer from the perspective of the liens being effective. Feel free to call me if you would like to discuss things further. 484-531-1701
