A contractor that I once hired is charging $3,600 me more than the amount that he agreed on with the home insurance company adjuster. Payment was sent before his due date. He stated that If he didn’t get payment before his did date he threaten to charge full price and put a lien on my property. He claims that payment was late and decided to bill me the difference what is owed. There was no written contract. Can he still put a Lien in my property?
