WashingtonLien on Funds

I live with my mother. I hired a company to build a ADA shower that did not turn out the way I intended. (I asked for a rain shower overhead, in addition to a traditional shower head as I wanted my mother to have hot water on both her front and back. When I turn both on at the same time, the water pressure drops to a fine spray on main shower head ) I believe it could be remedied by having each on their own piping and valve...as other contractors had suggested and because when the sink faucet is turned on, which is seperate, their is great pressure out of the main shower head, but when the rain shower is turned on in addtion, is when the pressure drops. Company states it cant be remedied. I just think they do not want to have to pull the walls down and re due it. I will get second opinion and try to negotiate a stiff reduction in price to pay for someone else to re due it...but can this company put a lien on my mothers house? The contract was in my name and I hire them..I live with her and house is soley in her name

In general, a lien can be filed against a property which was improved if brought at the request of the owner or the owner's agent. You could be construed as your mother's agent since the improvement was for her benefit. Did you have a written contract describing exactly what you wanted done?
