We are experiencing multiple problems with the hardwood floor that was installed in mid-October 2020. After the installation I provided the contractor with a video that showed the floor making cracking sounds while I was walking on it. He replied back with a link to a video that explained this condition, which stated that the “snap, crackle, pop” was normal and could take up to a year to go away. The condition I explained above did in fact go away after a number of months. However, it has now been almost 18 months since the installation and we are experiencing increasingly concerning issues with the floor that lead me to believe it was improperly installed. The symptoms we are observing are: - Loud “groaning” of floorboards while walking or standing, and/or slightly rocking on them. - Uneven height on adjacent floorboards causing discomfort while walking without shoes on the floor - Loose floorboards that clearly move when stepped on. I sent a certified letter documenting the problem to the contractor and he replied back immediately that he would get someone out to look at the floor. That was approximately one month ago and no one has come by. What should I do? Thank you.
