There is no state-wide statutory limit on the number of hours an independent contractor can work in week. However, local municipalities may (and usually do) limit construction activites to certain hours, for example, you may not be allowed to start before 6 a.m. because noone likes hearing jackhammer outside their window at 5:30 in the morning. Hours of opperation may also be controlled by the terms and conditions in the prime contract.
