I wrote a check "payment in full" for a dispute with my general contractor on the very top of the check and on the bottom in the memo line. The contractor scratched off the language - payment in full in the memo section but left the language on the top of the check. Can I make a case that it was an accord and satisfaction with the court because the language "payment in full" was still evidenced on the face of the check?
