I have a lien in place but would now like to release it. How to I move forward with a court stamped lien release? Do I just have to send the lien waiver to courts as well as contractor?
You do not need a court stamped copy. You simply file the release with the register of deeds for the correct county. Are you sure that you actually recorded a lien?
Generally a release of lien has to be recorded with the register of deeds and reference the filing of the original construction lien.
