How did I mortgage a home with unpemitted work?

Florida

I’m a new home buyer ( 25 days) I just found my “new full replacement roof had a permit pulled march 2018, but nothing else. My seller discloser says it was completed in 10/2018. Also found several more things done structurally done without permits!! Home inspector didn’t catch ( covered up) all of it. 4 point inspection says I only have one roof I have 3. Main-an unpermitted addition and Florida room

It's not hard to believe you were able to obtain a mortgage if the inspections didn't disclose these issues. Also, most inspectors do not look into whether permits were pulled and neither do most title companies. You best option at this point is to bring a lawsuit against the seller for failure to adequately disclose, but you would need to consult an attorney about whether that's a viable option or not.
