How can I file a Mechanics Lien?

How can I file a Mechanics Lien? I finished a job in Los Angeles, but my customer haven't paid me for the balance. Now she has filed a case with the Superior Court wanting her deposit back.

If the project was completed less than 90 days ago (and not notice of completion was recorded), then you can record a mechanic's lien using levelset. If a notice of completion was recorded then you have 60 days from that notice. If these deadlines have passed, you cannot record a lien, but can puruse the amounts you are owed in a cross-complaint against the owner. Once you file your lien, you will have 90 days from the recording date to forclose by filing your own lawsuit.
