Hello , we filed our first mechanics lien yesterday and I have a question on the amount I used for the filing. I used the contract amount between us and our customer apparently a payment was made and I was not advised . will we need to revise the lien ? or is the contract amount the amount that should have been used ?

Now that you know that a lower amount is due, you must record a partial release of lien to ensure that the balance of the lien cannot be invalidated as overstated. The partial release will need to be notarized and recorded.

If they have it. It will be under "Release a Lien." If they don't send me an email at ryan@huntortmann.com and I will send you one.
