Do I lose my right to file a mechanics lien if the owner/general contractor in CA did not send me a notice of completion

We filed the lien and the general contractor responded by sending a copy of the notice of completion, which was dated significantly before the date of the filing of the lien. We had not received this notice of completion previously.
