I am the general contractor on a project, and the building owner made the first down payment and the second payment when we started the job, but the last payment they say they don't have the money right now but they will get it later on, according to contract it was due the day we finished, which is now 30 to 40 days Overdue, I would be OK with them making payments if I could set up some kind of payment details with a new contract, but I'm wondering how it works as far as filing a lien against the property if I make a new contract with payment details and then they make the payment or they don't make the payment as required?
