Can I still file a lien in this situation if I have a business liscense but not a contractors liscense. And I am a sub

Tennessee

I am a sub contractor in Cookeville Tn. I dont have a contractors license however a licensed contractor hired me to do a trim job in a residential home new construction. I have been paid $7,875 dollars on a $10,500 job. I am requesting final payment due amount of $2,625. The final invoice was sent in on 9-8-20 the job was completely finished on 9-28-20. I was advised by the company to send in an early final payment notice thats why it was sent in on the 8th. However I have received no final payment and can get virtually no communication from the owner to pay his bill. He supposed to mail me a check and nothing has came. I guess my question is 1 do I even have a case to file a lien and 2 I do have a valid business liscense but not a contractors liscense and does that make a difference if I don't. Thank you for your time.
