Can I do anything for non payment

I am a subcontractor roofer working for a licensed contractor and he has continuously not paid but has told me he will pay me I have done multiple jobs for him and still no payment. I have text messages from him and verbal agreements for each job. He now owes me $15628.91. What can I do

Your rights for collection will depend on actions you have already taken to secure rights. If you properly served preliminary 20 day notices for the work, then you have more options, including fiing a line, making a bond claim, and issuing a stop payment notice. If you did not properly serve a preliminary notice, then you have the right to enforce the contractor's non-payment through a breach of contract action only in the Superior Court.
